What kind of relationship do you have with yourself?

Hello beautiful!

I hope you have been well. There's something I've been thinking about lately. We talk so much about building healthy relationships with other people but what about the relationships we're building with ourselves?

Because that relationship is being built every single day.

Do I stay with myself when something uncomfortable comes up?
Do I actually listen?
Can I allow myself to feel what I feel without immediately trying to change it?
Can I integrate what I learn and let it affect how I move forward?

In this week’s conversation, I’m sharing the five-step process I use:

Stay. Listen. Allow. Integrate. Move Forward.

And I’m sharing a real example from my own life of what this has looked like when different parts of me wanted completely different things.

You don’t need to have yourself completely figured out.

You’re building the relationship one interaction with yourself at a time. Or as I like to say, "one baby step at a time."

Much love and talk soon,

Brooke

Brooke Maguire discussing neurodivergent energy management using a video-game-inspired HP bar

Hi beautiful ❣️ Have you ever had a day where even the simplest tasks felt like too much? Recently, I've been exploring a different way of understanding my energy, especially as someone living with neurodivergencies, inspired by video games and the concept of HP, or health points. Instead of asking myself why I can't just get everything done, I've been learning to ask myself: how much energy do I actually have, what replenishes it, and what costs more than I can currently afford? In this...

Brooke Maguire exploring the ego, Five Bodies, and Pyramid of Mastery as frameworks for understanding yourself.

Hi there, beautiful! 🤍 Have you ever considered that the parts of yourself that you struggle with might have something to teach or show you? In this week's conversation, I'm sharing two frameworks I've developed through my own journey of rediscovering self: the Five Bodies and the Pyramid of Mastery. They're different ways of looking at the many aspects of ourselves – our thoughts, emotions, needs, protective patterns, parts, and so much more. These frameworks are near and dear to my heart,...

YouTube thumbnail for “How to Regulate Your Emotions When You Feel Overwhelmed,” focused on emotional awareness and regulation.

Hi love ❣️ One of the biggest things I've learned about emotional regulation is that it doesn't mean being calm, collected, or perfect all the time. And funny enough, I got to practice that lesson while recording this week's conversation. 😂 I wanted to share a little more of my own experiences with regulation, how I began understanding it, and some of the simple practices that have genuinely changed the way I navigate life. Because sometimes the smallest moments of coming back to ourselves...
